Lightweight, flexible sack protects food from bears and critters

The Ursack AllMitey protects your food from all creatures great and small. The Ursack AllMitey is virtually puncture proof. Not only will it keep out a bear’s teeth and claws, it will thwart mice, raccoon, squirrels, pine martens and other sharp-toothed critters. It is made with a patent-pending laminated process that combines the Spectra used in Ursack’s Major and Major XL and Kevlar correctional fabric–the kind used in prisons to thwart shivs. The Ursack AllMitey is also water resistant. However, the seams, unless treated with seam seal, could leak. The bear food sack weighs 13 ounces–almost twice as heavy as the Ursack Major–but much lighter than any canister. The inner bag, when sealed with the closure, will hold about the same amount of food as the Major–650 cubic inches (10.65 liters). If packed only with freeze dried food, it will hold about 35 single servings of breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is a bit of additional storage space above the hook and loop fastener and under the cord enclosure, but this area offers less protection while still preventing bears from getting a food reward. The AllMitey comes with an integrated six foot high tensile strength cord, which is designed to secure the opening and allow it to be tied to a fixed object like a tree branch. We always recommend using an odor barrier bag (OPSak 12 X 20). Ursack’s aluminum liner (sold separately) adds crush resistance but will not fit if the hook and loop fastener is closed. It is usually not necessary unless you are unable to secure this bear food sack off the ground or are carrying easily mashed food like fresh tomatoes. Ursacks are not considered a suitable bearproof container in some areas (such as Yosemite National Park). Please check with the authorities at your destination before purchasing the Ursack.

Note: Due to the difficulty in weaving high tech Spectra, the supplier is not always able to deliver pristine white fabric. Your white Ursack may arrive with minor cosmetic blemishes. You won’t see these once you have used Ursack in the wilderness, and these in no way compromise the performance of the product. Some units may have different color thread or rope than those pictured.

Please note, none of the Ursack models should be considered wolf or dog resistant. That’s because canines have sharp teeth and strong jaws. Bears have great strength, but their teeth are not sharp.
