Traditionally, the lightest-weight sleeping bags are made with extremely light, fragile ripstop nylon shells. Western has created their Caribou MF to be durable as well as lightweight by using Microlite XPâ„¢ instead, a highly wind- and water-resistant and incredibly breathable microfiber. This 1 lb 5 oz mummy bag has a full-length zip and is cut wide for a more comfortable fit, even with broad shoulders or layers. With its highly breathable shell and efficient sewn-through construction, the Caribou MF is a perfect summer bag and a great choice for Appalachian Trail thru-hikers.
Like all Western Mountaineering bags, the Caribou MF is made by hand in San Jose, California. Their down is sourced from free-range mother geese who are never live-plucked or force-fed.
